How WACO's Abrasive Waterjet Works

In WACO's abrasive waterjet, water is pumped
under 50,000 psi pressure at 2,700 fps (about 2 1/2 times
the speed of sound), mixed with garnet abrasive and precisely
targeted at the material to be cut. The abrasive waterjet
can cut soft materials like soft rubber or very hard materials
like stainless steel and titanium.
Computer generated drawings are translated into a digitally
programmed path for accuracy and repeatability.
The WACO abrasive waterjet has a maximum cutting area of
6 feet x 12 feet.
