Ladders
Inclined Ladders
For access between decks, WACO inclined ladders are compact and secure for tight passageways. Handrails are fixed or removable, depending upon application requirements.
Ladder Chutes
Convenient for handling supplies between decks, WACO ladder chutes are built to BUSHIPS specifications. Hinged slide panels swing up to allow personnel traffic, while the smooth surface of the panels allows easy movement of boxes and other materials.
Vertical Ladders
WACO vertical ladders, for engine rooms or cargo areas, are available in steel, carbon steel, or aluminum. Standard 10 foot lengths are stocked.

Telescopic Battens
Secure supplies and cargo in storage rooms with WACO telescopic battens. Available in fixed or adjustable lengths, with a variety of end fittings, WACO battens are spring secured into punched deck and overhead grating.
Technical Specifications
- Fabricated from 6061 and 5086 aluminum or stainless steel.
- Fixed aluminum battens are fabricated to BUSHIPS drawing 805-1749068.
- Adjustable aluminum battens are fabricated to NAVSHIPS drawing 804-2425891.
- Lengths available to suit grating to grating dimension.
- Battens are available with round or rectangular end lugs.
- End lugs can be welded or swaged to pipe.
Deck Grating
Punched and unpunched non-slip WACO grating panels are used for walking surfaces and storage rooms. WACO grating comes in Light Series and Heavy Duty. Interlock styles are available in 1 inch thickness. WACO punched grating can have round, square, or rectangular holes.
Technical Specifications
- Extruded aluminum 6063-T6 in accordance with MIL-G-18015.
- Pivot Lock overhead and deck grating in accordance with BUSHIPS drawing 805-2217865.
- Available in 6" wide sections to a maximum of 24 ft long or fabricated in panels to suit the specific requirement with end bar banding if needed.
- Interlocking grating, in accordance with NAVSHIPS drawing 504-2425891 is available in 3" male, 3" female, and 6" male/female widths x 1" high.
- Top surface can be punched with round, rectangular, square, or dogbone punch.
Ladder and Cap Treads
Replacement Treads for WACO Navy ladders and others build to NAVSHIP standards. Treads are manufactured in accordance with NAVSHIPS drawing 804-860041.

Type F Tread - Specify 804-860041 Type F
- Fabricated from 6061-T6 alloy, mill finish.
- Top surface can be provided with rectangular punch or optionally unpunched.
- Available 4", 6", or 9" wide, 1-3/4" deep, length as required.
- End plates can be provided with or without holes.
- Non-sparking, non-slip, non-magnetic, corrosion resistant.
Type G Tread - Specify 804-860041 Type G
- Steel base with slip resistant glass reinforced plastic covering.
- For use on new steel incline ladders.
- Width and length as required, 1-3/4" deep.
- End plates provided without holes (standard).
Type D Tread - Specify 804-860041 Type D
- Steel diamond pattern tread plate, galvanized after fabrication.
- Width and length as required, 1-1/4" deep.
- End plates provided without holes (standard).
Type I Full Tread - Manufactured in accordance with MIL-T-24634
- Complete tread including welded end plates.
- Extruded aluminum, 6061-T6, mill finish.
- Aluminum oxide grit bonded with synthetic resin set in grooved top surface.
- Available in 4", 6", or 9" tread widths.
- End plates provided with holes (new ladders) or without holes (replacement treads to be field match-drilled).
Type II Cap Treads - Manufactured in accordance with MIL-T-24634
- Tread cap for installation over tread base.
- Extruded aluminum, 6061-T6, mill finish.
- Aluminum oxide grit bonded with synthetic resin set in grooved top surface.
- Available in sizes to fit a 4", 6", or 9" existing tread or new steel sub-base.
- Countersunk holes provided to mount to existing treads.
Davits and Sockets
WACO davits and sockets team up with winches and rigging to stow or deploy accommodation ladders and gangways.

Accommodation Ladders
WACO Accommodation Ladders are built to BUSHIPS 804 and 805 hull type drawings. These include fixed tread and feathering tread arrangements, along with upper and lower platforms, boat fenders and shell bumpers.
WACO ladders can also be built to commercial specifications.
